Born at the Illinois Institute of Technology
Aquager started as a student project — a search for an indoor farm that didn't look like office equipment.
We refined it through two accelerator programs at the Kaplan Institute and Future Founders Bootcamp, and tested it in real homes for a year before bringing it to market.
Each Aquager Home Farm is handmade in small batches in Chicago. Slight grain variations between pieces are part of the craft.

How long until I'm eating my first harvest?
First sprouts appear in 6-9 days. Microgreens are ready to harvest in 7-10 days. Most herbs and leafy greens are ready in 3-5 weeks. Fruiting plants like strawberries, peppers, and tomatoes take 8-12 weeks for the first full harvest. Once growing, most plants regrow after each cut for 2-4 months.
Do I need any gardening experience?
No. The Aquager Home Farm is designed for people who have never grown anything before. Pre-seeded organic mediums mean no measuring, no transplanting, no soil. The built-in lights run on an automatic timer. Just add water once a week and the system does the rest.
Do I need an app or smartphone?
No. The Aquager Home Farm runs without an app, no Wi-Fi, no login, no smartphone required. Just plug it in. The built-in LED timer runs the lights automatically. There's nothing to download, no account to create, and no software to update.
What if my seeds don't grow?
If any of your seeds don't germinate within 14 days, contact us and we'll send free replacements. Our pre-seeded mediums have a high germination rate, but plants are living things and occasional non-germination happens. We stand behind every seed we ship.
Where does the Home Farm fit?
The Home Farm is 22.1" wide × 14.9" deep × 18.5" tall — about the size of a small kitchen appliance or end table. It fits on most countertops, kitchen islands, or as a standalone piece in a hallway, dining room, or living room. It needs a standard wall outlet within reach of the unit.
How much maintenance does it need?
About 5-10 minutes per week. Add water once a week, top up nutrients monthly, and harvest as plants are ready. The lights run on an automatic timer. No daily watering, no pruning, no schedule to memorize.
What seeds come with it?
The Home Farm includes seeds — pre-seeded organic mediums for herbs, leafy greens, and more. Or order seed packs separately from our store. We carry over 50 varieties of non-GMO seeds.
Is the wood real?
Yes. Every Aquager Home Farm is built from real wood, hand-finished in our Chicago workshop. We don't use plastic panels, MDF, or particleboard. Slight grain variations and color between pieces are part of the craft — each unit is unique.
How does shipping work?
All orders ship from Chicago within 48 hours of purchase via UPS or FedEx. US delivery typically takes 3-5 business days. Free shipping on orders over $40.
What's the warranty?
Every Aquager Home Farm comes with a 1-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. If anything breaks under normal use within the first year, we'll repair or replace it at no cost. After the warranty period, we offer affordable replacement parts and direct customer support.
